On Friday we went in for the results of the test that would tell us if B4 might have down syndrome. Good news was, from the sonogram, things look good and the baby looks very healthy, but this of course was only after about an hour of the technician trying to get the correct photos. Seems that not only is our baby a "mover and a shaker" it's very stubborn. As soon as the tech tried to get pictures of it's neck, it would flip over.... as soon as it went for the scull shots, it would stop moving. This made for some great "massaging" aka pounding, on my stomach to try and get the baby to move into position. An hour later... we had our pics!
The cool part was, that during that hour, we were able to see some amazing footage of B4- it's feet were flipping all over the place, we heard the heart beat and it seemed as if it was flashing us some sign language with it's hands (it may have said something like- mommy stop eating so many spices.... but we couldn't tell)
We do have to go back to this doctor again, because our initial blood work was taken too soon- at 7 weeks and 6 days..... we had to be at 8 weeks. But as long as things look good, we'll do what we have to!
On another front- we signed a lease for a new apt- an actual 2 bedroom!! That means B4 will have it's own room... with a door! For those of you familiar with city living, a REAL 2 bedroom is very hard to come by, so we are very excited!! It's only 2 blocks away and it just brings us closer to the water, and closer to the all important dog park for Burton (can't forget the little guy!) We'll be moving in at the end of the month, so if anyone is available, Chris is looking for help ;)
