9 months

The 9 month mark has come! J is growing like a weed and progressing very nicely. She continues to amuse us with her "talking" and each week has a new "saying." This week it's been "Gack". Everything is "Gack Gack Gack." We both look forward to receiving the dictionary that defines these words!

J is a very happy baby who is quite content hanging out with her puppy. One of the first thing she does when she wakes up is to look for Burton. Any dog that we see on the streets gets her all excited and she begins to kick her legs and twirl her arms (we call it the belly dancer look).

She has begun to pick at her own food and is getting quite good at feeding herself (as long as Mommy and Daddy realize that small pieces are better!) Some of her fav's are black bean veggie burgers (this is the newest), corn, puffs and peaches.
J has recently re-discovered her hands and is quite amazed that she can wave them. If you wave to her, give her about 5 seconds and she'll wave back, but with her hand facing towards her. The wonderment on her face is awesome!
Working on "how big!"
I think she was growling at me again ;)
Very happy baby!

Momma got a new camera!

Chris bought me an early anniversary gift (5 years in just a few short days!) after I managed to break yet another electronic device. We won't even go into how many have been destroyed over the last few months, and I fully blame having a very long case of Mommy brain.... Either way, we have been talking about getting a new camera for awhile now, and he took the plunge for us! The camera is awesome and takes such amazing pictures, I feel like all you have to do is press the button and the camera does the rest!

Chillin' in the stroller... cool girl loves to hang with her foot up on the roll bar

Missy & Mark get hitched!

Two of our closest friends got married this past weekend and we can now introduce Mr & Mrs. Mark & Missy Koenig! The wedding was absolutely gorgeous, with possibly the best weather of the summer. Not a touch of humidity and bright, clear, blue sky's. If anyone in the Long Island region is every looking for a place to get married, their venue was just incredible - Land's End in Sayville. Both Chris and I agreed that it was the most beautiful place we've been to.

But besides the beauty of the place, it was also incredible for both of us to be a part of a wedding between two people that are just so perfect for each other. They compliment each other, and their love for one another is so clear it's beautiful.

Congrats Missy & Mark!

The gorgeous bride!
Down the aisle.
J even came to the ceremony! My parents brought her up (and also watched her for the night!)
Enjoying a little "single-parenting!" (Chris's phrase for our nights out without baby!)

Ahhh... some things never change. Those bongos were calling my name!

It's a Shore Thing!

J relaxing "pool side" up on the deck. She just started splashing around in the water so it's getting even cuter to watch her play!

Nana giving J her last bottle after a bath

We had a great time this past weekend down at the Jersey Shore with Nana and Grandpa O'Haire! The weather couldn't have been better and J is getting more and more acclimated to the ocean water. We did have an exciting shark sighting - it was a sand shark that got too close to the waters edge. There have been quite a few down in Seaside this summer, almost about one or two a week (so much for that "water fence" that keeps all the sharks away..... what happened to that Dad?!?)

J spent her days singing her heart out, which Nana and Grandpa found quite amusing (not quite as much at 7am though), and she also found the two dogs, Burton and Kelly very entertaining!

Family beach time!

J is starting to explore the sand around her
amazingly enough, she hasn't started to eat it yet though!

With her favorite guy

I'm not sure who got into the bubbles more, J or Burton! J gave the biggest belly laugh as the two dogs started jumping all over the place trying to catch the bubbles!

Burton resting after a long day..!
