Burton standing guard.
Burt has been awesome with our new little guy.  He's just as protective as he was when J was a newborn- making sure nothing happens, alerting us when he cries.  Very sweet puppy!

Shea 8 weeks

8 weeks- about 13.5lbs

Does very well with tummy time- would rather be on his stomache or back then in a swing ect.  Great for a small apt!

Hanging with the fam!

8 weeks- man has that gone quickly!  Shea is doing wonderfully- he is such a great little guy- very content and gives the biggest grins!   He rolled over for the first time right around 8 weeks (from front to back) and is very eager to stand up.
Sleeping, eating and chilling out is what he does.  He's on a fairly consistent schedule of being awake for about 45mins- an hour or so and then sleeps for about 1-2 hours, eats, stays awake and then goes back down.   We started very early on with just putting him down without rocking  him, so he's very good at self soothing.
Very happy baby who loves to watch his big sis and Burton run around the room.  Couldn't ask for a better baby.

Handsome boy

Shea has begun to make eye contact and it's just the sweetest thing.  He'll look up at you as your holding him.  If your speaking, he'll begin to try and mimck your mouth movements, maybe even giving you one of his 100 watt smiles.   Such a cutie.

A Spidy-Princess

Jocelyn 2.5, Charlie 3, Sarah 5

We got together with Candice, Danielle and kids this past week for a little summer fun.  It was a hot one, so the kids did a lot of sprinklers and then indoor playing.  We've been doing these playdates since the kids were all infants, so it's so much fun to see them growing and changing with each get together.
They are a lot more interactive now, and the fun, as you can see, includes a lot of dress-up!

4th of July Party

Shea - 6weeks, hanging in the shade with Yaya

Down on the beach

Caleb getting down with the clams

The Laurel house- view from the beach.  The same house/property that we got married at

Mommy and J enjoying the bay breeze

Hanging with the big kids- Steven, Caleb, Chrstina & J

Shea was a bit of a party pooper- decided sleeping in the air conditioning was better then hangin' with the fam.

The FIDI Triplets

There was a baby boom in the Financial District!  Without planning it, two of my closest friends here in the city and I all became pregnant within 3 weeks of one another.  We each have firsts all within 6 weeks of each other (Grant and Avery are two of Jocelyn's closest buddies), and when we found out we were each having a boy, it almost seemed cultish!  We got the kids together for the first time for a photo-shoot, including matching outfits for the boys (thank-you Megan!)

Having friends experiencing the same things as I am has been awesome.  Not only can we kibitz about it, we understand the emotions and feelings that post-pregnancy brings (I seemed to have forgotten some of the daily ups and downs you feel).

Shea is doing wonderfully.  He is still a very relaxed baby- he eats, sleeps and hangs out without fuss.  His awake time is about 45mins- 1hour 15 mins (and that includes his feeding time) and we've been able to put him back down to sleep while he's still awake without fuss.   The only time he cries (or mews's as I call it) is when he's hungry or gassy.   Throughout the entire photo-session ( a good hour) he was the only one (and that includes the toddlers) that didn't throw a fit or cry.

Shea has just begun to smile (makes my heart melt) and follows our faces and tries to mimic the expressions of our mouths.

We had a quick visit with the full Massey clan, as they stopped by Wantagh on their way to a family reunion in PA.  The girls had a great time tog (as always) and the population of lightening bugs in the backyard will never quite be the same...
