Here's a little piece called "I know she's my daughter because.."
- Jocelyn was given a lolly pop by her Dad, and after about 5 licks, handed it back to him and asked for some pretzels (food is always better then sweets)
- Her potty prize is an M & M. Today, she bit hers in half to savor it (my box of chocolates is always full of 1/2 eaten candies. I can make them last longer that way)
-It's freaky when you hear yourself speaking, and it sounds like your 2 year old daughter. Her sentence phrasing sounds very familiar to me..... scary.

Winter Break
School was out for the week, so we headed to LI for a few days to spend some time with Mima and Aunt Mysh. Always a lot of fun!
Pooh gets some extra attention on the swing (notice J's hat- it's a fav't when she goes to Mima's)
Mima and Aunt Mysh took the girls ice skating!
Mima reported that Jocelyn is a 'natural' and has great balance.
Logan did a wonderful job scooting around the rink. A few more sessions and the girls will be out on their own!
Piper preferred the Koala bear to the ice skates... for now.
It was a big day! After ice skating, we hit the scooters!
Jocelyn is just getting used to how to operate them, but with her big cousin's help, she'll soon be a pro!

Taking time for a slice
Our days just seem to fly by. Jocelyn and I quickly go from one activity to another, always on the move. We do enjoy our quite relaxed mornings, but I've been realizing lately that I need to stop and just absorb our time together more. Look her deeply in the eyes and really listen to what she's saying. She has just so much to say, and with so much excitement about the world too.
I took her out for some pizza this afternoon, and we sat, Mommy and Daughter, enjoying a slice. I sat across from my now big girl and just pondered how we got here so fast. She is truly an amazing human being, with such enjoyment of life She has so many questions about things- whats that sound? What's that thing? Whose that person? What's he doing? Just sitting, listening and talking with her is so amazing.
While sitting there, she all the sudden squealed with excitement because she saw a picture of "our bridge". "Our bridge, Mommy!, Our Bridge!" It was a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge up on the wall. "We go under the bridge" "That's right babe, we do." "That's our bridge Mommy, our bridge."
Taking the time for a 30 minute slice is what it's all about.

Brooklyn Children's Museum
A few friends and I headed over to the Brooklyn Children's Museum on a cold wintery Wednesday. It is quickly becoming our favorite museum for it's wide variety of activities and hands on materials for the kids. After a day full of fun, when asked how the museum was, Jocelyn's response "I saw fish poopy." Awesome. She saw one small fish with a string behind it and that's what she took away from 3 hours of learning.... have to love it!
Planting vegetables in the "garden"
Avery, Mateo and J checking out the Iguana
A very large grass hopper
