Flower Hunt
A long day at Mima's turned into a great time for the girls to explore and plunder the neighbors flower gardens in an offical flower hunt. Rules were only 1 flower each and only if the bush reached the side walk (we didn't want any over anxious flower gathers).

Shea- 4 weeks
Funny Notes:
- Jocelyn has gotten very accostumed to our daily vistors and now yells from her bed after nap "I want a visitor". When answered that we may not have one today, she pretends not to hear and keeps asking who our visitor will be today.

Brooklyn Bridge Park
My mom has been wonderful about coming in to help out with Jocelyn and Shea and has been in almost every week since he was born. We usually try to have an "adventure" when she comes in and this week we took the ferry across the East River to Brooklyn Bridge Park. We walked down to the "big playground" and J was excited to see that the water park was open. The water section was amazing- rolling streams, sprinklers, rocks for the kids to climb on.. as my mom put it, you felt like you were upstate NY, not Brooklyn, NY!

Father's Day Weekend
We had a great Father's Day weekend spent here in the city. Saturday we did what we enjoy most- wandered around the downtown area, hitting playgrounds, snack areas and just enjoying the beautiful day. Sunday we didn't quite get out as early as we had hoped (these long nights are catching up to us a bit) but by the time we did get out (around 4) we once again found ourselves headed to a playground and then over to Shake Shack for some burgers and fries.

2 Weeks
Shea is doing amazingly! He's hit the two week mark, and although he's waking up a bit more, he's still a very chill baby. He eats about every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 at night. His largest feeds have been 7 ozs, but on avg he does about 4-5ozs. I'm nursing him along with pumping and giving him bottles of formula, all of which he takes no problem, but is much quicker with the bottle then nursing.
At his 2 week visit he weighed 9lbs 3ozs (up almost 2lbs since birth) and has grown an inch and 1/2 to 22.5inches. He's growing quite nicely!
This is the start of me being home with him alone, and after day 1 I do have to say I forgot how much work it is by yourself! The most I got done was taking Burton for a walk this morning and eating lunch by 2! Shea's a good baby, but everything does just take so much time. How quickly one forgets! The good thing is though, this time I know this period is short lived and that give it a few more weeks, he'll be settled into a much easier routine.
At night he's sleeping in 3-4 hour chunks which is quite acceptable for this age. Besides when he's hungry or gassy, he doesn't fuss very much and is overall a very content baby.

Life is good
A gorgeous spring night, sleeping baby in my arms, sitting on the balcony, enjoying a glass of wine. Life is certainly good.
These last two weeks have just flown past. I know a part of it is because Chris has been home and we've had such a good time having quality family time, but really, this whole experience is has just been so nice. Seamus is doing amazingly- he's eating like a champ and sleeping as well as any newborn can be expected to sleep. The warm weather has certainly made it easy to spend time outside and we've been able to just put him into the stroller and take Jocelyn over to all the parks she's used to. I'm not going to say we're quick to get outside- most days we haven't been able to leave the apartment before 11:30, but that's expected.
Maybe that's the operative word- expected. We just know a bit more what to expect and things aren't coming as a surprise.
Fun in the sun!
The last two weeks have been awesome. Having Chris home for the first two weeks of Shea's life, and having two full weeks of family time has been incredible. Most of our time was spent either at home or at the local playgrounds enjoying quite a few picnic's. It was great to just wake up together each morning (well sort of together- we do have a newborn!) and to have the whole day to spend with one another.

First Bath
Shea's belly button fell off yesterday so it was time for a full bath! Jocelyn was really excited to help out and did a great job of handing Daddy the soap and shampoo. Shea handled the bath like a champ and didn't even squawk all that much. After he dried off, his hair poofed up and the resemblance to his Mommy became even stronger.
