Mother's Day in Seaside

We spent the weekend down in Seaside to celebrate Mother's Day, and as always, had a great time.  The girls have such a good time playing together and are becoming more and more independent.  Nana spoils them rotten with 'surprises' and treats, and they love it!

A new bubble gun!! Fun for all- including the dogs!

Ring pops- one of Nana's many "surprises"

We headed down to the rides at the Heights. The girls had a blast and we blew through our 50 tickets in no time flat!

We'll practice our directional waves....

Logan's fav't ride- the slide!! She and Daddy caught some air on this jump!

Piper and Jocelyn preferred the much calmer train

Mommy even got in on the action

The last few weeks

The last few weeks have been a bit hectic and I haven't had as much time to keep the posts updated, so here are a few things that have been going on.  As Mommy continues to grow bigger, so does Jocelyn's personality!  She is a child full of life and very exuberant.  When she feels something, she feels it into the bottom of her toes!
Brooklyn Bridge Park with her pals- Grant and Avery.

Getting practice on Grant's scooter (hers will be coming with the arrival of the new baby).  Notice, she's going uphill- down hill was much to fast for both her and Mommy!

The crew

Lady J and her trusty foot soldier, Burton.

She loves to get dressed up, no matter what time of day it is

We knew it was much to quiet!  Jocelyn announced that she was going to change Minnie's diaper and I saw her from the living room and everything looked good.  After about 7 mins we went in and found that not only was she changing her diaper, but she was making sure that she had plenty of diaper creme on her to keep her smooth.

Lady J- part princess, part fairy (with her play dough flower)

Central Park Zoo

We took advantage of a beautiful Saturday and headed up to the Central Park Zoo for the morning.  Always a fav't place for us to visit- easy to get to and not overwhelming for Jocelyn.

Taking a look at the "Tiki-Birds" Mommy is 34 weeks prego here

Watching the sea lion show

The great 'lions' themselves!

Laurie and the Twins

Laurie and the girls came down for a few days over their spring break and we had a chance to visit with them.  The twins are in 3rd grade (9years old) and extremely well-mannered, kind and just wonderful kids!  The 4 oldest had a really good time playing together and Emma & Grace couldn't have been sweeter to J and Logan.  We spent our time in the park and then after naps, the pool was brought out and it was like summer in Mima and Pop-pop's backyard!

Big and little, all enjoying the swings.  The 'big' girls are so great with the two little ones- very patient and they have such a good time playing together!

Up and away!

Emma-9, Jocelyn 2.5, Piper 11 months, Grace 9, Logan 3.5

It was 80 degrees out, so the pool had to come out!

Such great girls!

"I Do" is gone....

J's typical answer when asked if she wanted something was always "I do."
"J, would you like a sandwich?"
"I do."

"J, do you want to go to the park?"
"I do."

Well, this weekend it suddenly changed to "Yes."   Still very definitive and strong affirmation, but a boring old yes.

"J, do you want to take a walk?"
"Yes."

"J, did you brush your teeth?"
"Yes."

A tiger, a ladybug & a camel

As we walked back from the subway tonight, while holding Jocelyn in his arms, Chris and J looked at the sky to see "what they could see flying above."   Jocelyn grabbed a hold of Chris's face and said to him
"Daddy, you're a Tiger in the sky, and I'm a lady bug."
I casually ask, "and what am I, Jocelyn?"
"You're a camel Mommy."
"Really.  Why am I a camel?"
"Because you have a bump."

Harvard, we hear you calling.

Easter

For the first year, we had Jocelyn color and decorate eggs!  It was a fun time and all 12 eggs survived the process!

Decisions, decisions....

This one needs a 4th and 5th color added to it

The great search the next morning.  The Easter Bunny left Jocelyn some very nice hair bows, fun coloring books and some great stickers.  He must not have gotten the memo about candy...

First Sleepover

We had Logan come in for the girl's first sleepover, and they had such a great time!  I met Mysh on Friday around 10am for the "exchange" in Manhasset and then took the girls back into the city.  All Logan could talk about in the car was how excited she was to go to a playground!

So as soon as we arrived, that's what we did!  We headed over to Imagination Playground right down the block from us and the girls got some good play-time in.  After lunch and naps, we headed back out over to Battery Park, where we hit another playground, had some dinner down in the Seaport and took a walk down by the East River.

The girls both slept in Jocelyn's room (J in her crib, Logan on an air-mattress on the floor) and after only an hour and 1/2, actually did get some sleep!  Chris and I were in hysterics though listening to the two of them "talk" to each other before bed.

They were quite for the first 10 minutes, almost unsure of whether they should be talking or sleeping.  Then J started in with "I see a ghost".
Logan: "Jocelyn, we have to go to sleep.  It's 5:30 o'clock, and it's time for bed."
J: "I see a ghost"
L: " No J, we need to sleep."
J: "I see a ghost"
L: "Ok, let's tell ghost stories then."

This was followed by renditions of "Hukuna Matata", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", more ghost stories and just general little girl silliness.  Chris went in after an hour to settle them down, and they fell asleep shortly after that.  The cutest thing was that through almost all of this, they were both hunkered down under their own sheets not moving from their beds, just talking up a storm.

They were up bright and early the next day (we think around 6:45), and by the time we went into the room, Burton was already on-guard in front of the room (completely freaked out b/c "they were loose"), all of Jocelyn's bed toys were piled up on the floor and the stool was pushed over to J's crib for Logan to stand on.

After some breakfast we headed right out for the first adventure of the day- a ferryboat ride!
Battery Park- Great cousins!

The girls and 'our' bridge

Brooklyn Bridge Park has some great playgrounds.  One is devoted solely to slides and climbing.  The girls had a blast here (as did Uncle Chris!)

At the swing-park

We continued the "best day ever" with a ride on the carousel

Logan's smile says it all

And we topped off the day with some Ice Cream... Best Day Ever!

Some very tired little girls at the end of this whirl-wind weekend!

Easter in Seaside

We celebrated Easter a week early with Nana and Grandpa.  As always, Nana had a ton of activities planned for the girls and they had a blast making Easter decorations, looking for eggs, and making cupcakes.

Piper gets in on the action with Kelly

The great Easter Egg hunt!

In each of their baskets was a very fun water gun that Grandpa promptly showed them how to fill and shoot.

We took that activity right outside....

Helping Grandpa celebrate his birthday!
